WestConnex is a major program of new motorway and upgrade works that will link western and south-western Sydney with the city, Kingsford Smith Airport and Port Botany precincts. Millions of people will benefit from free-flowing motorways through faster and more reliable travel times and the economic benefits derived from more efficient delivery of freight, goods and services.
Overall, the WestConnex project spans 33 kilometres comprised of 14 kilometres of above ground road and 19 kilometres of tunnels. Stage 1 of the project delivered the 7.5 km widening of M4 motorway between Parramatta and Homebush along with ramp upgrades, new direct access ramps and approximately 2km of bridge widening.
