direct jobs created
SRL East from Cheltenham to Box Hill will connect major employment, health, education and retail destinations in Melbourne’s east and south east. The line will slash travel times, connect people travelling on the Gippsland corridor and building it will create up to 8000 direct jobs. Construction started in June 2022 and trains will be running by 2035.
Transaction Advisory: IAG is engaged as Transaction Advisor for the SRL. The IAG team works closely with members of the SRL project teams to deliver concurrent major work package procurements including Initial Works and Early Works (IWEW) Package (Managing Contractor), two Tunnelling Packages (Incentivised Target Cost Model), line-wide Infrastructure, Systems, Rolling Stock and O&M Package (Delivery Alliance and O&M Franchise) and two Stations Packages (Alliances).
Delivery and Engineering: IAG provided key engineering and project management services for the $30 billion SRL East project including constructability advisory services, independent assessments and planning services.
We conducted reviews of existing civil constructability reports and expanded assessments to include rail systems. Our team identified construction staging requirements, developed options for station disruption at Box Hill, Glen Waverley and Cheltenham and ensured access points met construction demands.
Through workshops we fostered cooperative relationships and worked closely with SRLA and technical advisors to transform data into actionable insights.
Within four weeks, we delivered a comprehensive framework for occupation, constructability and staging to enable SRLA to prepare for Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA) workshops.
