VHBA Transition To VIDA

Responsible for

the planning and delivery of the Victorian Government’s multibillion-dollar health infrastructure program

Remit includes

new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities

In April 2024, IAG played a pivotal role to support the establishment of the VIDA. This Machinery of Government change was one of the most complex transitions within the Victorian public sector, as the VHBA Project Office remained accountable to the Department of Health (as well as VIDA) following the transition.  The overarching goal was to integrate VHBA into VIDA’s operating framework to improve efficiency, centralise capabilities, and enhance alignment with government priorities.

The IAG team successfully designed and delivered  a new operating model for VHBA and VIDA that aligned VHBA with VIDA’s ways of working while centralising core capabilities in VIDA. The team also assisted with IT Systems Migration, establishment of governance forums and reporting lines, plus a comprehensive change management plan to support VHBA and VIDA employees during the transition.
