The Community Safety Building Authority is building a new youth justice centre that will deliver a 140 bed new, fit-for-purpose, secure, youth justice facility that meets the needs of the community, youth services staff and young offenders.
Designed as a ‘status neutral’ facility for young males aged 15-18 years, such that it will be able to flexibly accommodate young males on long term remand, undergoing sentence, or both, within distinct communities. It includes a mental health unit and an intensive intervention unit.
The new youth justice centre will play a key role in the rehabilitation of young people and children who are offending and improve community safety.
The works are being delivered under the Managing Contractor Contract model.
