The project will remove fifty level crossings, deliver new train stations and improve public transport capacity, traffic flows and pedestrian and cycling links at key locations throughout Melbourne’s transport network. This is a coordinated program of unprecedented scale that will deliver significant gains to Melbourne’s metropolitan transport system, economic productivity, and local communities.
The works are being delivered under both Project Alliance and D&C agreements with the majority of level crossing removals being delivered by four large program alliances. These include North Eastern Program Alliance, North Western Program Alliance, Western Program Alliance and Southern Program Alliance.
